| Has it really been a whole year since my last post? Wow, doesn't time fly when you have been removed from just about all positions of political power and influence and have nothing much to do except change baby diapers and argue with your older children! Still, despite losing that place on the Los Angeles Greater Echo Park Elysian Neighborhood Council after last October's elections and having the California Title 1 Parent Union closed down by Maria Casillas, Yo has been keeping herself busy with Blacks In Technology. Not, perhaps, quite at the focus of Californian public life, but then that's hardly surprising, is it? Even so, the videos of CT1PU being closed down make sad viewing. These parents deserve more that the corrupt officials who run LAUSD. But they also deserve better than some of the people who purport to represent them. |

What do these video's have to do with Yolande?

This is her organisation, The California Title 1 Parent Union, being evicted from its offices by Maria Casillas of LAUSD.
ReplyDeleteyou should see how the "CT1PU" treats other parents and staff. they're being "evicted" for being disruptive and not following meeting guidelines, but of course they wouldn't post videos of that, now would they?

ReplyDeleteI used to attended one of her programs in London "global graduates" i stopped going before the company went bankrupt in 2003! Strangely as a fully grown adults I came across her path about 2 years ago (2017) at a party thrown by a relative! Needless to say she pretended like she'd never seen me before in her life!
ReplyDeleterecently went to see an old friend, we meet in the early 90’s working for Yolande on different projects. I’ve been living in SF for 7 years & returned to London last September & I’ve been catching up with people. We talked about Yolande for a bit & it got me wondering about her… I couldn’t believe she fled to the US, got into the country with all the County Court Judgements against her, was still there & was in CA the same time I was there?
ReplyDeleteYolande owed both my friend & I money from unpaid invoices and I was a fresh graduate out of Drama school. She used to come to my Aerobics classes in the late 80’s & took a real interest in me, at the time she ran babies ballet classes & I assisted her, I thought we were friends although she was 7 years older than me.
Once I graduated & between acting jobs, I worked on a freelance basis on some of her projects as a facilitator, they were always community based, she saw gaps and skilfully raised funds from local authorities & local Goverment to upskill people, often around employability.
Eventually I had around 12k of unpaid invoices, the promise of payments dragged on for months. Meanwhile Yolande’s cars were getting flashier, her clothes & jewellery more designer. I may have been young but I realised I had to stop working with her.
I went to our small claims court to try and re-coup my money. The court ruled in my favour but she just never paid up & I lost the money I spent in the courts too.
My boyfriend went to her office one evening with a fierce friend to try and make her pay up. They just got a tiny bit of cash but I was glad she had been rattled…
Until now I have blocked her from my mind but I wanted you to know she’s been scamming & grifting since 1990. Maybe longer…
